Translator
[edit]I note that the translator was different for this book. Is there a reason the translator changed?
Plot
[edit]The plot concerning Tyler's plan is wrong. He intended to unleash Ball Lightning attacks on Earth's Kamikaze force in order to turn them into a quantum state (concept further elaborated in Liu's novel Ball Lightning), and thus gain an immortal army. Should I edit it?
- No. That information may have been in the novel Ball Lightning, but it is not in the novel The Dark Forest. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 04:34, 30 April 2017 (UTC)
- It is in the Chinese version of the Novel, Wallfacer Tyler plan is different in both versions, I think this fact should be included--133.6.60.139 (talk) 14:36, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
Yeah you should. FlyingNinja1 (talk) 05:32, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
There is divergence between the Chinese and English versions of Liu Cixin's novels. I can attest. --223.38.24.253 (talk) 02:32, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
- Ideally, both versions of the plot should be mentioned. MonsieurD (talk) 19:41, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
Would it be worth making a new section/page for the actual dark forest theory proposed in the book?
[edit]I don't know if this would qualify for its own page, but I think it would be a good idea to have a section for the solution to the Fermi paradox Cixin proposes in the book. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Whooliewhale (talk • contribs) 12:19, 14 August 2018 (UTC)
- Sounds like a good idea, I think it would. Gug01 (talk) 22:21, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
Yeah, It is a good one. FlyingNinja1 (talk) 05:33, 27 May 2020 (UTC)
